I got this pencil sharpener to use in my art studio. Currently, there's no wiring in my studio building, so tools that can be recharged in my home and used to work are especially helpful to me. This sharpener did not disappoint. I use it for art pencils and harder pastel pencils. It's helpful that there's a selection for how sharp a point to make, since sometimes with pastels it's better to have a more blunt tip. I've sharpened charcoal pencils, I just have to be real quick and not let it grind on them. But with all hardnesses of typical drawing graphite pencils, it's perfect. It's small enough to sit on my work table, but large enough to be able to sharpen a lot before needing to be emptied.

This is my first powered sharpener and I'm so happy I got it. So much better, and less messy, than those little handheld sharpeners. This would be handy in classrooms or homes with kids using regular pencils too.

Five stars for this fully automatic pencil sharpener by AFMAT. Mine is Model PSX6. This pencil sharpener is hands free by simply placing a pencil into the sharpening hole, and it will be drawn into the blade and sharpened then auto released. It can sharpen 7-11.5mm diameter pencils at three different sharpness settings by moving the sharpness adjustment knob to the desired position. It's very easy to dump the shavings with a twist of the lid to reveal the shavings bin. It comes with a USB charger. It has four pads on the base to keep the sharpener from moving out of position when in use. Soundwise, I wouldn't consider it very noisy, but you can hear that it's operating. I find that my pencils come out perfectly sharpened every time, no jagged or roughly cut sides or led. Very smooth.
